Eight months pregnant on the New Year’s eve

My father worked for a company called Metal Box in Calcutta. In this image, my mother, an Obstetrician,  is 8.5 months pregnant with my elder brother, who was born 18 days after this picture was taken.

They went to receive the groom, but returned empty handed

When the strapping Pathans from the bride’s family went to the station to receive the groom, they returned empty handed claiming that the groom’s family never arrived, there were however, many Chinese people hanging about at the station.
